Chief's mother "Clara" is a very accomplished dog being a 4X GMPR as well as a Triple Crown qualifier in the APLA venue. She is also an AKC Master Hunter and Qualified All-Age. She is a full sibling to several other accomplished dogs including:

Chief is a very welcome addition to the Southfork program thanks to Doug Dodge. Doug offered Sammie Harms (our kennel manager) the opportunity to add Chief to our lineup and he is everything we are looking for in a Labrador Retriever. Chief is intelligent, willing, and fun to train while being manageable size and an easy-going boy! In terms of genetics, Chief is very well bred and comes from Doug's proven lines of versatile retrievers that can run APLA (pointing lab hunt tests), HRC, and AKC hunt tests as well as AKC field trials. To us, the versatility is undeniable and we love the fact that these dogs can do it all. Whether you want an active companion/pet, a hunting dog or a dog for hunt tests or trial venues, we are confident Chief can produce it.
